Aaron Siskind Individual Photographer’s Fellowship
The Aaron Siskind Foundation is offering a limited number of Individual Photographer’s Fellowship grants of up to $10,000 each, for artists working in photography and photo-based art. Recipients will be determined by a panel of distinguished guest judges on the basis of artistic excellence, accomplishment to date, and the promise of future achievement in the medium in its widest sense. The Foundation seeks to support artists/photographers who demonstrate a serious commitment to the field, who are professionally active or employed in the field.
Aftermath Project
An award of $20,000 will be given to a photographer for a project that explores the aftermath of violent conflict.
Alexia Foundation
Through grants and scholarships, The Alexia Foundation supports photographers as agents for change and promotes the power of photojournalism to give voice to social injustice.
Blue Earth Alliance Photographic Project Sponsorship
Blue Earth sponsors photographic projects whose goal is to educate the public about endangered cultures, threatened environments, or current topics of social concern.
Burn Magazine Emerging Photographer Award
The Emerging Photographer Grant is designed to support continuation of a photographer’s personal project. This body of work may be of either journalistic mission or purely personal artistic imperatives. The primary intent is to support emerging photographers who will become the icons of tomorrow.
Carmignac Gestion Photojournalism Award
A key aim of the Award is to support the winning photojournalist by providing a global platform for their work to be seen and collected. The Carmignac Foundation collaborates with the winner throughout the entire project by offering the laureate 50,000€ to go into the field, financing a monograph and developing and staging an international touring exhibition upon their return. Four photographs from the winner’s portfolio then enter Carmignac’s prestigious art collection.
CENTER
CENTER offers two annual grants for photographic projects with cash awards to help complete or disseminate the works as well as providing a platform for exposure and professional development opportunities. The Project Development Grant offers financial support and exhibition to works-in-progress. The Project Launch Grant is presented to an outstanding photographer working in fine art series or documentary project.
Center for Photographic Art Artist Grants
Each year the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, CA, awards 3-6 individual artist support grants and exhibition grants ranging from $3500-$5000 each.
Dorothea Lange-Paul Taylor Prize
Created to encourage collaboration between documentary writers and photographers in the tradition of the acclaimed photographer Dorothea Lange and writer and social scientist Paul Taylor.
Denis Roussel Award
The Denis Roussel Award is for photographers whose work is based on the historical/alternative photographic processes, including silver gelatin.
Denis Roussel Fellowship
This Fellowship is tailored to help support the selected artist to reach the next level in their artistic path and explore possibilities to address specific needs. A group of mentors and a variety of resources will be available to help the recipient set clear goals as they proceed.
Firecracker Photographic Grant
The Firecracker Photographic Grant is an annual award providing funding for a female photographer to aid with the completion of a documentary photographic project. Through a combination of self-initiated fundraising and with the generous support of Genesis Imaging, the Grant fund is a minimum financial contribution of £1,000 plus £1,000 credit of professional printing, mounting and framing services from Genesis Imaging.
Focus for Humanity
Aims to provide financial support, resources and training for professional and amateur photographers who capture these stories of our shared humanity and to help fund their work with NGOs.
FotoEvidence Book Award
The annual FotoEvidence Book Award will recognize a documentary photographer whose project demonstrates courage and commitment in addressing a violation of human rights, a significant injustice or an assault on human dignity. The selected project will be published in a book, as part of a series of FotoEvidence books dedicated to the work of photographers whose commitment and courage create an awareness of social injustice. FotoEvidence will offer to collaborate with one of the finalists to crowdfund the publication of their work.
FotoVisura Grant
Aims to support personal photography projects and encourage the production and development of photography outside the commercial realm.
Getty Images
Offers Grants for Editorial Photography as well as Grants for Good, which support photographers working with nonprofit organizations.
Howard Chapnick Grant
The annual $5,000 grant may be used to finance any of a range of qualified undertakings, which might include a program of further education, research, a special long-term sabbatical project, or an internship to work with a noteworthy group or individual. According to the Fund’s Board of Trustees, special consideration will be given to projects that promote social change and/or serve significant concerns of photojournalism. The grant is not intended to be used for the production of photographs, which will continue to be funded by the main grant of the Smith Fund.
Ian Parry Scholarship
Entrants must submit a portfolio and a brief synopsis of a project they would undertake if they won the scholarship. The prize consists of £3,500 towards their chosen assignment £500 to those awarded Highly Commended and Commended. There is no fee for entry.
Imagely Fund
Offering two $5000 grants, Imagely Fund supports photographers who are undertaking important projects that can move the needle of public awareness for major humanitarian or environmental issues.
Inge Morath Award
The annual Inge Morath Award is given to a woman photographer under thirty years of age, to assist in the completion of a long term documentary project. The winner and finalists are selected by the photographer members of Magnum Photos and a representative of the Morath Foundation at the Magnum annual meeting.
Innovate Artist Grants
Innovate Grant supports artists and photographers through quarterly grants.
We believe that new ideas come from sparks of inspiration and aim to provide just that, access to small and mighty bursts of financial support so that you can focus on making your important and innovative work. Innovate Grant was created out of the frustration of applying to grants with time-consuming requirements. These lengthy applications took valuable time and energy away from making new work. Countless hours were always sacrificed in either writing artist statements, crafting project proposals and getting letters of recommendation.
iStock Grant for Filmmakers
Designed to support emerging filmmakers and videographers worldwide, the Creative Bursary will award 10 grants totaling US$20,000 to provide encouragement and much-needed financial support during a time of when it is greatly needed.
iStock One Minute Film Grant: Resiliency
iStock challenges you to use your creative powers to create a one-minute piece—emphasizing the concept of Creative Resiliency, as you choose to interpret it—entirely from the iStock film library for a chance to win a grant towards your education and expertise. Semi-finalists will receive a one-year iStock Signature subscription valued at $1K. First place will receive $10K, and two runners up will receive $5K each.
LightWork Artist-in-Residence
Each year Light Work invites 12-15 artists to participate in its residency program, including one artist co-sponsored by Autograph ABP and one artist in conjunction with the Urban Video Project (UVP). Artists selected for the residency program are invited to live in Syracuse for one month. They receive a $5,000 stipend, an apartment to stay in, a private digital studio, a private darkroom, and 24-hour access to our facility.
LUCEO Student Project Award
Central to LUCEO’s mission is their belief in the importance of long-term projects. They also understand that developing photographers need support. To advance both of these causes, LUCEO has created the LUCEO Student Project Award, which will be disbursed annually to a talented student photographer in support of a significant and developing body of work.
Lucie Foundation Emerging Scholarship
The Lucie Foundation is proud to offer three cash grants to support the work of emerging photographers – one $2,500 scholarship with an open theme and two $1000 scholarships for photographers working in the fields of Fine Art or Documentary/Photojournalism.
Magnum Foundation Emergency Fund
The Emergency Fund supports experienced photographers with a commitment to documenting social issues, working long-term, and engaging with an issue over time. Projects address critical global issues that have not received the attention they deserve, or budding crises that are still over the horizon.
Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation for Documentary Photography & Film Grant
We are excited to announce the opening of our 2016 call for documentary photography and film grant entries. Created to encourage the betterment of humanity through editorially-based imagery of themes including human unrest, famine, disease, politics, war, uprisings, injustice and triumph, we invite photographers and film makers to submit their applications and works through March 31, 2016. Two $5000 awards will be announced in July 2016 during Les Rencontres d’Arles in France.
Marine Conservation Photography Grant
Applicants should be serious emerging photographers who may have become successful in their local region but have not been widely published in major magazines and have not earned numerous high-profile international awards. We prefer applicants to be under the age of 30, but older applicants who can still be regarded as ‘emerging’ may also be considered. Photographers with underwater photography skills in their repertoire are especially encouraged to apply.
New Orleans Photo Alliance Grants
The New Orleans Photo Alliance has two grants – the The Michael P. Smith Fund For Documentary Photography, and the Clarence John Laughlin Award, which was created to support the work of photographers who use the medium as a means of creative expression.
NYFA Emergency Relief Fund
In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the Andy Warhol Foundation, Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and Lambent Foundation (a project of the Tides Center) established an Emergency Relief Fund, administered by NYFA to assist artists with damages and losses.
Paula Riff Award
The Award is open to artists whose art is challenging conventional photography through work that reflects the artist’s hand, either based on the historical/alternative photographic processes or with physical intervention through cutting, sewing, etc.

Reminders Photography Stronghold Grants
Using our global network, we will be supporting the publicizing of photographers and their works, your photographic presentation or campaign, or your book launch. Any alternative proposal on photography for the best use for this gallery space is welcome – but all proposals will be reviewed and only successful proposal will receive this grant.
Rory Peck Assistance Grants
RPT provides individual grants to freelance journalists and their families who find themselves in a critical situation. This may include freelancers who have been threatened, imprisoned, injured, forced into hiding or exile, or killed.
Rory Peck Training Fund
Rory Peck Training Bursaries are for freelancers who work internationally. To qualify you will need to have worked as a freelancer in newsgathering and/or current affairs for a minimum of 18 months. The number of bursaries are limited and priority is given to freelancers whose work habitually takes them into hostile environments, and to those with a forthcoming confirmed assignment.
VSCO Artist Initiative
