Abandoned The Chateau Gallery Louisville, KY |
Abandoned is an exhibition exploring abandoned and rediscovered objects, spaces, and structures. A popular genre in the photographic world is the trend of urban exploration (“urbex”) — the exploration of abandoned or forgotten places to document the narrative of those who lived or worked there. Through the captured image, we can glimpse the ephemeral nature and memory of ourselves and our surroundings and preserve them before being lost to time and place. What do these structures and objects convey about society as we leave them to decay? What is the essence of time and place, and what-or whom-are we abandoning? Abandoned is an international open call for photographers ages 18 and older. All forms of two-dimensional images, traditional and non-conventional media, and conventional or alternative processes with a subjective analog or digital photographic base are welcome for submission. |

Art as Storytelling |
art as storytelling is our Fall 2024 online juried exhibition hosted here. art as storytelling seeks artworks that explore narrative in visual art. We invite artists to explore the ways we share our stories visually. From creating a bedtime story to our histories and mythologies to an Instagram story, narratives inhabit our daily lives. Consider the ways you create and tell stories through your art. The exhibition will examine these ideas through a variety of mediums in art. Any mediums are welcome, including but not limited to photography, sculpture, painting, collage, digital design, video art, installation, ceramics, performance art…anything you can think of, include it! You may submit up to 3 artworks for a $5 fee, due September 20, 2024. Artists will receive a notification a week after the deadline. The exhibition will go live on October 1, 2024. This exhibition will be juried by Aline Smithson. |
