Sally Mars
My friend, Gina Kelly, pointed me in the direction of Minneapolis photographer, Sally Mars’ wonderful work, in particular, her series, Greater Than, about the great American past time of watching and playing baseball. This is not her first project about Baseball, she has several others, including From the Seventh Inning On and A Rebuilding Year, which brings me to the conclusion that she is a season ticket holder and truly loves the game. Sally has the ability to capture the essence of baseball–the hopes and dreams of the spectators, especially those that still hold the dream of being a major league player.
Sally has written wonderful essays that accompany her various series–her whole site is very much worth exploring and reading…especially in a season of Spring Training.
