The Naked Truth
I thought I’d round out a week of so much art and photography on exhibition, and showcase another great curatorial effort by Ruben Natal-San Miguel for Hous Projects. The exhibition is titled The Naked Truth and is a photographic and video visual survey of 50 years of Voyeurism, Nudity and Sex. From Bert Stern’s Marilyn Monroe 1962 Last Sitting to the 2010 Jen Davis- Skype/Webcam series, The Naked Truth should prove to be a fascinating line-up of talent and images. The exhibition originated at Hous Projects in NYC, and now moves to Hous Projects Los Angeles, with the addition of West Coast photographers. The show opens on July 22nd and runs through September 9th, with an opening time at 6pm on the 22nd.
East coast photographers include Bert Stern, Susan Meiselas, Marla Rutherford, Natasha Gornik, Chad States, Will Steacy, Marilyn Minter, Phil Toledano, David La Chapelle, Luke Smalley, John Arsenault, Juliana Beasley, Amy Elkins, Josh Qiugley, Aaron Lee Fineman, Zach Hyman, Carrie Shaltz, Jaime Permuth, and Guillermo Riveros.
West Coast include Aline Smithson, Tierney Gearon, Job Piston, Mona Kuhn, Larry Clark, Renee Jacobs, Anthony Kurtz, Carlo Van de Roer, Lacey Terrell, Jesse Finley Reed, and Steve Diet Goedde .
