Ryan Schude
Los Angeles photographer, Ryan Schude, has been creating new photographic worlds by combining a mixture of humor, chaos, constructed environments, and ironic fun. Ryan is a photographer who does it all, producing commercial, stock, editorial, and fine art imagery and he’s a man of few words as evidenced by his refreshing bio:
1979 – 1997 – Greater Chicagoland Area – growing, climbing, playing
1997 – 2003 – San Francisco Bay – reading, writing, learning
2003 – 2006 – San Diego – shooting, driving, flying
2006 – Current – Los Angeles – making, lotsa, stuff
Ryan will be exhibiting a selection of the images below, (the first 5) several in large scale, at the Godo Gallery in Glendale, CA that will run through this Saturday. The first two images were created at PHOOT Camp, the brain child of Laura Brunow Minor, of Pictory Magazine. Be sure to click on the images to see them larger.
These images come from two separate series. The first, a tableau style series, embodies a loose, narrative framework to communicate an overall aesthetic above anything else. Every element in the frame must contribute equal weight in telling the overall story and determining a cohesive visual style that resonates throughout the whole body of work is a more intimate portrait of individuals in their environment.

The second is a more intimate portrait of individuals in their environment. This selection in particular are being used in conjunction with performance and installation in group show entitled American Dollhouse which has its own separate agenda that happens to run parallel with many themes touched on throughout my work from the elaborate set design of the gallery itself to the theatrical performances that take place while the public is viewing the photos on the wall.
