All About Zines: December Issue
“¿Hacia dónde? is a self-published fanzine by Dilema, an art direction & graphic design studio in Spain composed by Pia Volpino and Clara Laorden. The photos became a result of the time Pia spent living in the island of Ibiza while trying to draw some meaning out of her quiet years through analog photography. Over time, she found herself trying to capture the warm and inviting landscapes of the island with a cold and eerie view. The use of strong contrast, flash, a lot of black areas and some abstract compositions in a nightly setting converged into an exploration of the peculiarities of nature and the expressiveness it holds.
Later on, Clara curated, edited and composed the photos to create a zine that represents Dilema as a studio in aesthetic and tone. She intervened the images with bright pink gradients and filters as a way of bringing more unearthliness to the atmosphere and a playful contrast between the dark photos and the intense color.”

“Tendre is a self-published zine that delicately explores the interplay between intimacy, memory, and vulnerability through photography. Inspired by fleeting moments of connection and quiet introspection, it serves as a tactile archive of emotions. The zine examines how we interact within relationships—the fragile connections we nurture, the dynamics of coexistence, and the process of building intimacy with another person.
Created during a transitional period in my life, Tendre reflects the duality of mourning and the intensity of love. When words fail, images step in to reveal the raw vulnerability embedded in human relationships. This edition is home-printed using an inkjet printer, bound with staples along the spine, and features a mix of film and digital photography. Cropped, assembled, and zoomed images come together on its pages to create an intimate, collage-like narrative. Each detail is carefully chosen to evoke a sense of nostalgia, drawing readers into a world of soft, muted tones and quiet reflection.
This project began as a deeply personal journey—a way to navigate my own healing and uncover the beauty hidden within moments of imperfection.”

“We See What We Want To See is a collective zine that brings together the voices of 31 Asian photographers, each contributing a unique perspective to this compilation. Conceived from an open call with no set theme, the project invited photographers to share any work that resonated with them, allowing for the broadest range of creative expression. As a result, the zine stands as a testament to the diversity and individuality of each artist, reflecting a wide variety of subject matter, styles, and stories. With no constraints on genre, medium, or focus, the contributors offer a raw and unfiltered glimpse into their personal visions, artistic practices and everyday surroundings. We See What We Want To See thus becomes a collective exploration of identity, memory, and perception, shaped by the distinctive experiences and creative minds of each photographer.”
