But nothing in this world that I like more than checks – Cardi B
We are celebrating our 19th year of Lenscratch! The site started as a way to learn more about our photography community and shine a light on work from around the globe, but I never could have imagined, that almost two decades later, that we would have featured the work of thousands of photographers and created a space of learning and inspiration. As you know, this is a voluntary organization and I am so grateful to the editors who have donated hundreds of hours to showcasing others for many years.
Next month we will be producing the Lenscratch Student Prizes…all include cash awards to help recent graduates with next steps. All of our donations go towards the maintenance of the site: the hosting bills (that continue to grow), the daily newsletter, and all the monies presented to the Student Prize Winners (and other awards) come from your donations. All of our calls for entry are free as we wanted to create a space where everyone can participate. We keep our expenses lean but will still need help.
Two years ago, we were accepted by the Moonridge Foundation to be our fiscal sponsors–they take a small percentage of each donation, but they also allow readers to write off their donations.
So I am asking you to consider Lenscratch in your annual giving. Any amount would be very appreciated. You can donate HERE.
Warmly, with gratitude.
Aline Smithson
