Michael Marcelle was born in 1983 in New Jersey. He received a BA from Bard College in 2005 and an MFA from Yale University in 2013. His work abstracts and reconstructs effects of a natural disaster on his family and hometown into a new, alien world.
His work has been exhibited at The Aperture Foundation, Pioneer Works, and Interstate projects, among others, and featured in The New Yorker, Vice, and The Huffington Post.
