Stephen Berkman rules…
Granted, it’s not often that you find yourself in the presence of brilliance, but tonight was just that. I’m hosting a class at the Julia Dean Photoworkshops, where for 6 weeks, fine art photographers that live in Los Angeles come and share their work. I was/am/will be forever a fan of Stephen’s work, and he so kindly gave us his time, on the same night he had an opening at the Blue Sky Gallery in Portland. Stephen is a master at ambrotypes, tintypes, and other bygone processes–he also has created some amazing photographic installations like the camera obscuras below.
