Melanie Pullen Revisited
Earlier this summer, I mentioned that had attended the opening of Melanie Pullen’s new exhibition, Violent Times, at the Ace Gallery in Los Angeles. Melanie just e-mailed me that the show has been extended to January 2009. It opened in July in one of the most amazing gallery spaces I have ever encountered. Almost a block long, on the second floor of a building on Wilshire Blvd, the Ace Gallery is really more like a museum with rambling rooms and more wallspace than any photographer could ever get down on their knees and beg for.

Which brings me back to Melanie. It takes a lot to fill that space, and as the press release says, “this is the largest solo-exhibition of photographs in the United States this year.” Wow.
If you get to LA this year (and if you coming in for photo LA), don’t miss it.
Bravo, Ms. Pullen.
