Brett Weston and FAPE

Brett Weston Tree Bark, Oregon , 1971 11 x 14 inches Silver Gelatin Print Gift from the Christian Keesee Collection to the Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies
To be honest, I had no idea that photography is being celebrated in embassies around the globe. The Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies (FAPE) shared with me that they have just welcomed a significant collection of Brett Weston’s photographs which will join the company of Tina Barney, William Wegman, Richard Benson, Sidney Felsen, Cindy Sherman and Carrie Mae Weems who are already in their collection.
Foundation for Art and Preservation in Embassies (FAPE) is the leading private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing permanent works of American art for U.S. embassies worldwide. It contributes to the U.S. Department of State’s mission of cultural diplomacy and cross-cultural understanding within the diplomatic community and the international public. All artworks commissioned or placed by FAPE are gifts, representing the generosity of some of the United States’ greatest artists and donors. As of 2014, FAPE’s donations include permanent works by more than 200 preeminent American artists placed in more than 140 countries.
