What would life be like without color?

Continuing our look at past Lenscratch’s exhibitions, the 34 photographers presented in A Second Gaze: The Favorite Color Edition, capture life on its full, kaleidoscopic spectrum. The sequence begins with Harvey Hanig’s image of clouds dissipating behind telephone wires, revealing glimpses of blue sky. This burst of color within the white expanse sets the stage for a vibrant journey through varied hues and saturations. The curation then transitions smoothly between hues, culminating with a sequence of images where color becomes less natural and more psychedelic and fantastical. Together, these photographs celebrate the beauty of color in everyday life, captured through vibrant landscapes, still life, portraiture and abstract photographs.
