The Photography Show presented by AIPAD
“As we announce our exhibitor list for The Photography Show 2024, the Board of AIPAD and I are proud to present a compelling list of galleries from all over the world,” says Lydia Melamed Johnson, Executive Director of AIPAD and The Photography Show.
Every year in April, New York City celebrates photography, with the The Photography Show presented by AIPAD. This year, new new Executive Director of the fair, Lydia Melamed Johnson, steers a 45 year institution into a new incarnation. AIPAD returns to The Park Avenue Armory for the first time since 2016. From April 25-28, 2024, 74 incredible exhibitors from around the globe will unveil an exciting mix of work that reflects a dynamic and diverse understanding of the photographic medium. Newcomers to the fair include ELLEPHANT, Marshall Gallery, RocíoSantaCruz and The Third Gallery Aya, coming to New York from Montreal, Canada; Santa Monica, CA; Barcelona, Spain and Osaka, Japan. The upcoming iteration of AIPAD represents both a return to its roots – a renewed commitment to excellence in fine art photography – and the ushering in of a new era of the fair, partnering with an unprecedented number of young galleries and encouraging presentations that significantly push the boundaries of photography.
In 2024, The Photography Show presented by AIPAD, the longest-running and leading fair dedicated to photography, will return to its previous home, the Park Avenue Armory, for the first time since 2016. From April 25-28, 2024, 77 incredible exhibitors from around the globe will unveil an exciting mix of work that reflects a dynamic and diverse understanding of the photographic medium. The Photography Show showcases exceptional presentations by existing members of the prestigious Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) and by galleries new to the fair. The upcoming iteration of the fair represents both a return to its roots—a renewed commitment to excellence in fine art photography—and the ushering in of a new era, bringing in an unprecedented number of young galleries and encouraging presentations that push the boundaries of photography.
Newcomers to the fair include ELLEPHANT, Marshall Gallery, RocíoSantaCruz and The Third Gallery Aya, coming to New York from Montreal, Canada; Santa Monica, CA; Barcelona, Spain and Osaka, Japan. Showing at The Photography Show for the first time, these global galleries will be presenting a mix of archival and vintage photography, alongside emerging photographers and experimental approaches. Complementing the fair’s presentations, The Photography Show will feature robust programming for all ages: panels hosted by thought leaders in the arts and culture space will be accompanied by insightful walkthroughs and educational events, in addition to the the celebration of the prestigious annual AIPAD Award, presented to a pioneer in the community who is changing how we perceive photography.
“Showcasing both AIPAD members and guest exhibitors, next year’s return to the iconic Park Avenue Armory will unveil a reinvigorated AIPAD and gather the past, present and future of the best in fine art photography. This announcement is just the beginning, as we look forward to special programming and exhibitions to come.”
