Shane Lavalette: Who Knows Where the Time Goes
Sometime back, I started recieving e-mails about the new photography magazine, Lay Flat. I was curious to find out who was behind the publication–turns out it is Shane Lavalette, a publishing wunderkind, in his last year at Tufts University and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. He not only is edits, writes and publishes Lay Flat, but has a well read Journal (found on his site), a series of terrific interviews with photographers, and has written and photographed for publications including photo-eye and Slash Magazine. Plus he still has time to make his own work and get an education.
Shane grew up near Burlington, Vermont, and some of his imagery reflects his connection to that part of the country. He has a number of interesting series; the work featured below is from his Who Knows Where the Time Goes portfolio.
