Amber Shields
Looking at participants of Review Santa Fe, a juried photography portfolio review hosted by Center, giving tremendous support and exposure to emerging and established photographers.
Texas photographer, Amber Shields, has several interesting projects, Visions of Johanne, and A Year Engagement, are particularly appealing.
Visions of Johanne was a fifteen year project of documenting her grandmother, Johanne. Amber became to know her grandmother in a deeper way as she observed her progression from family matriarch and breadwinner to her most vulnerable days at the end of her life. These are poignant and truthful images that only a loving and intimate lens can capture.

A Year of Engagement is a project where Amber, as a tentative fiance, takes the time to observe and dissect the man she is about to spend her life with.
