An Intimate View of Southern California
Tonight begins an many-venued tour for an exhibition created by 50 regional documentary artist-photographers, called groupSC2009. The project, An Intimate View of Southern California, was conceived by Helen Garber, and the work is always presented in unique ways — projected, shown on monitors, and this year featured in a traveling trailer named Lucy. An Intimate View of Southern California is part of MOPLA’s opening reception at Bergamot Station as a featured installation.
Each of GROUPSC’s photographers has incorporated their signature style into the documentation of the region’s unique neighborhoods where they reside, work or play. The exhibition results in a myriad of perspectives tinged with current affairs. Photographers featured are below:
