Christopher Thomas
German photographer, Christopher Thomas, travels the globe creating work for international publications, but he has managed to stay in New York City long enough to create a wonderful body of work, New York Sleeps. Now available in hardcover, this project was created with a custom-made large-format camera, Polaroid film and long exposures. A decade long project, Christopher finds moments when the city is without a human population, carrying an air of “19th century tranquility while hinting at a cryptic, apocalyptic ending”.
