Sebastiao Salgado
Flying across country allowed me a chance to really digest the new issue of B &W Magazine, along with a few episodes of MTV’s The Hills and Exiled– which provided a stark contrast to the work featured in this issue by Sebatiao Salgado. Salgado is one of those handful of superhero photographers that humble and amaze you, make you feel like hanging up the camera strap because what he produces is so haunting and beautiful and upsetting and meaningful. He is prolific in capturing human drama and suffering around the world and I am grateful for whatever qualities he possesses to make this remarkable work.
