Amy Eckert
looking at photographers from Review Santa Fe
Recently transplanted Minneapolis photographer, Amy Eckert, has several bodies of work about confined spaces. Earlier projects examine truckers and submarines, and her latest series, Manufacturing Home, explores the insides of assembly line, prefab housing complete with carpet and curtains.
Amy divides her photographic time between a long roster of commercial clients and a number of insightful fine art portfolios. After receiving her BFA from Massachusetts College and an MFA from Bard, Amy is currently on the faculty of the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her work was featured in the 2008 PDN Photo Annual along and in numerous exhibitions around the country.
“Manufacturing Home attempts to understand the definition of “home” and the multi million dollar industry selling the idea back to us.”
