Slovakian photographer, Martin Kollar, lives in Prague and seems to have a knack for being in the right place at the right time. I am featuring work from two of his series, Nothing Special, and TV Anchors. Nothing Special was published in 2008. He has the ability to capture a moment that is at the same time humorous and telling. Martin is documenting a nation changing from socialism to capitalism, his images are amusing snapshots of situations on the edge of absurdity. Simultaneously, he is keenly aware of how to keep the necessary distance to properly reveal the bizarre.

I covered a few 14.000 kilometers in the car, with feet or by bike. My photographs are taken during these many voyages which I accomplish. My glance sticks to ordinary people during their ordinary moments , when they are released their professional responsibilities and that they move in their own world.
