A Summer of Hope Exhibition
@ Grady Neilan, On The Mountain, @grady_neilan
Cultivating hope is much like pulling manual focus: it requires conscious effort, practice, precision, and a clear sense of how far we are from our objective. Sometimes, the panorama blurs; it’s veiled in clouds of misfortune and precarity. Yet, even when we see nothing clearly, hope still lingers, quietly waiting at the threshold, ready to spark a chain of events that, in time, lead to change in ourselves and the world around us.
At their core, the photographs selected for LENSCRATCH’s 2025 summer exhibition, A Summer of Hope, remind us that it takes conscious effort and active action to make the world brighter, sharper, and actively in focus. At the end of the day, photography is not simply a tool for documenting the world around us, but also the generative act of reimagining it.
Congratulations to the selected artists!
