The 2021 Vernacular Photography Exhibition
A huge thank you to our juror, Greg Sand, and to all who have shared your work with us. It was exciting to see all the creative submissions and we appreciate you efforts in sending us work. Juror Greg Sand shares his thoughts:
I am so excited about this exhibition, and it was a joy to experience the many approaches to the theme. All of the artists in this show have created pieces that explore vernacular imagery in unique and beautiful ways, whether manipulating a found photograph through collage or assemblage, incorporating vernacular images into a photograph, or working in a snapshot aesthetic.
It has been an honor to curate this incredible exhibition and view the many wonderful submissions. Please know that if your work is not included, it is not a reflection on its quality or value. I tried to shape a show that I felt fully and accurately represented the theme as well as reflected the diversity of techniques and interpretations that were submitted. Thank you to everyone who entered, and congratulations to the winners and featured artists.
