The 2017 Women’s March Exhibition

On January 21, 2017 millions of women, men, and children used their First Amendment powers of Freedom of Speech to protest in cities across the United States and on every continent around the world. It was a profound experience, sharing the streets with people who want a better world–a world that protects women’s rights, that cherishes our planet, that is safe and healthy for our children, that is free of misogyny, racism, bullying, and fear. On behalf of the Lenscratch staff, we are honored to share hundreds of images of a remarkable day in this massive ten part post, being celebrated today on International Women’s Day. We thank the many organizers around the globe and we hope this is a reminder of the day that women ruled the world.
Thank you to Patty Lemke, Valerie Patterson, and Noelle Swan Gilbert who assisted me in compiling this exhibition. We ask you to share it with your friends, like us on Facebook and Twitter, and to submit to future exhibitions. Most importantly, keep fighting the good fight. This is only the beginning.
